BENEFITS OF BEING A DOG FOSTER

Animals are euthanized daily simply because there isn't enough room for all the animals brought in to the local shelters. By choosing to become a foster parent, you are helping to save animal’s lives!
Interested in fostering: If you are interested in fostering for Pittie Me Rescue and have no other dogs (or have a safe and secure way to keep dogs separate at all times) or cats in your home, we would love to get to know you and have you join our rescue family. - A dog is given a second chance at life
- Fostering helps the dog learn basic obedience commands, proper socialization skills and sets them up for success of being adopted
- Fostering provides one on one attention to animals that who many have trust issues and socially challenged
- You get to know the personality of the dog and can help the adopter decide if the dog is the right fit
- Fostering Saves Two Lives; the life of the dog you are fostering, and the space you opened up for the dog in need of being rescued.

Pittie Me Rescue's Responsibility
Foster Family's Responsibility
- Provides dog crate, food bowl, food, toys, collar and leash
- Pays for all necessary vet care
- Screens potential adopters
- Facilitates foster care follow-ups throughout the animals stay
Foster Family's Responsibility
- Provide ongoing care for the animal
- Provide positive reinforcement through positive training , work on basic obedience commands and socialization skills
- Transport the animal to and from vet for necessary medical care/follow-ups if possible
- Attend adoption events when available
- Continually provided open communication of animal's behavioral and health progress
